Work Sample #4
Name of Assignment: Senior Project Elevator Pitch
Subject: Senior Seminar
Facilitator/Teacher: Mr. Adam
Description of Work/Assignment:
For our senior projects to be approved, we had to present a detailed pitch of our idea to our class. This was the presentation that I presented for this.
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why?
I believe that, for me, this assignment addresses my Civic Literacy and Engagement Skills. My project goal is to educate my peers about our legal system. Included in this will be a unit on engaging in government, voting, selective service, etc..
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why?
I am most proud of the slideshow. I worked very hard to make feel original, organized, and pleasant to look at.
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment?
This assignment developed my Civic Literacy and Engagement Skills by giving me the opportunity to research how teenagers like me can have an effect on government processes and engage in our legislative systems.
What was most difficult about completing this task?
The hardest thing was narrowing down the list of what I would talk about in my project's curriculum. I had a lot of different ideas about what I thought would be good to talk about, but I could only do so many of them because of time constraints.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do differently?
I am proud of the slides, but I think that I might improve them by adding more images. There are a lot of big blocks of text, which isn't as pleasant to look at, no matter how many graphics I add.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past?
I am really interested in law as a concept and as a career opportunity, so I got to reference a lot of the concepts I had learned because of that.
How can you apply this to future learning?
I have yet to complete all my research for this project and I hope that the foundation I have laid with this presentation will allow me to build on my knowledge of law and civic engagement.
